SENIOR Magazine Expands Publishing Team with New Social Media Position
Colorado Springs, CO. – SENIOR Magazine, a Colorado Springs based publisher, added a new position in July – Social Media Director, Sondra Barr. The publication is proud to welcome Barr, a dynamic professional who’ll help guide the magazine’s continued growth.
“Sondra Barr is an enormous asset to SENIOR Magazine,” said Chief Financial Officer, Bob Cates. “Her well-rounded publishing and online marketing knowledge and consulting experience provide a solid foundation for our growth in new markets. As Social Media Director, Barr is responsible for all facets of online communication and the cultivation of enhanced dialogue across reader, franchisee, and advertiser segments. Barr will also direct the magazineʼs overall online strategy and help develop new business opportunities.
She brings over 15 years experience in the areas of publishing, business development, and Internet marketing strategy. Most recently, Barr founded The Media Barr, a company specializing in content connectivity. Prior to joining SENIOR Magazine, Barr served as Editor-in-Chief of Go Gilbert! magazine, a monthly lifestyle publication, where she helmed the companyʼs initial forays into the digital sphere. Sheʼs also served as a community columnist for the Arizona Republic newspaper, worked on The Ritz-Carlton Magazine, and co-founded the companies FindMyResort.com and Jet Away Golf.
